Common Queries

The telegram is your primary method of communication with the League, and with your Field Agent.

Receiving a telegram from your Field Agent is your opportunity to get the most current information about what your Field Agent is seeing in his investigation. Your field agent will send you information as soon as he has it, so expect multiple telegrams from each location.

After you have received all your telegrams, your Field Agent will let you know he has exhausted his efforts and is awaiting your orders.

At the Telegraph Office, you can easily send a telegram back to your Field Agent. Remember that the League pays by the character when you send a telegram, so be succinct and direct in your communication. Give your Field Agent one destination city and one only. Because of potential interference in the transmission lines, it is important to not confuse your Field Agent by giving more than one destination in your telegram.

Oh… and remember there is no punctuation in a telegram. No periods, no commas, no dashes. The only way to delineate between sentences is to say STOP.

Good luck! And good investigating!

Indeed they are.  Solving mysteries is about the details. You need to pay close attention to everything you do and say while operating within the telegraph office.

Once you send your telegram, your Field Agent will leave immediately for the destination you choose. Be aware that however long it takes him to get there, that is the minimum amount of time you will have to wait before you get a reply.

When possible, your Field Agent will be traveling by the fastest means available. Typically, this will be a train, but not always. He or she may be taking a boat, a car, a horse, or even a plane if it is the best way to get to the destination you request.

Even with an excellent train system, it may take up to 24 hours for the Field Agent to get to the destination. And then there will be minutes, and possibly hours, while your Field Agent exhausts all the avenues of investigation at that location.

When the Field Agent has exhausted the investigation at that site, you can expect a message saying he or she is awaiting your orders.

You mustn’t rush.  If you send the Field Agent to the wrong destination, it could add hours to your investigation, because you will have to backtrack to the last location you felt was on the right path, and then start over from that point.

Be careful. Cross reference your new clues with the information in the file on your desktop.  You are leading this investigation, so the responsibility for success, delay, or failure, lies entirely on your shoulders.

Absolutely! Your assignment must be completed.

If you have not achieved the objective of your mission by the end of the month, your mission will be assigned to another Consulting Mysteriologist to complete. You will also be reassigned to another case at that point.

Your Radio Receiver is especially designed by our resident Inventor in Chief, and Director of Operations, Sophia Dakkar. Much of the technology you see and use today is based upon her work over the last several years, so to be presented with one of her devices is a special honor indeed.

There are over a thousand frequencies on the radio, and it is used by many different members for many different purposes. You will be sent specific frequencies where you can retrieve your messages that are vital to your mission. If you have trouble getting the sliding dial to hit your exact desired frequency, you can simply type the frequency into the Fine Tuning spot underneath.

When you have acquired the proper frequency, you will see a change in the button at the base of your device. When you see that change, press the button to hear your message.

Due to Dakkar’s amazing technology, your message is retrievable at any time. It is literally suspended in the electromagnetic strata of the planet, so you can go back and hear it any time you need.

It’s not a toy, so don’t play with it, and don’t lose it! This is your lifeline to the League. Guard it well.

On occasion, there are issues with telegrams being received or radio broadcasts not quite working right.  This is rare, but not unheard of.

The first step in the telegram process is making sure your communication provider isn’t falsely declaring our communications to be “junk”, and thus hiding them from your normal workspace. That is a function of you adding the League official address to your address book. If you have received one communication from the League, then you can add that address, and you should receive them all.

If you have any other issues, please contact the League at Theo@LeagueofMysteriologists.com and we should be able to get you sorted out toute suite.
